Redmi 6 Pro Announced with AI Cameras, New Display and Big Battery
Metal body and 19:9 Display feature in Xiaomi's new low-cost champion
Today, 21st of June 2018, Xiaomi announced their new top Redmi phone – Redmi 6 Pro. In addition, Redmi 6 Pro Price and Specs have been revealed. Over the past month Xiaomi also released Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A with Helio P22 and Helio A22 chips by MediaTek. Naturally, most thought Redmi 6 Pro would be coming with a better MTK chip like the P60 but prepare for a surprise.
Xiaomi have more than obviously announced the full specifications of the Redmi 6 Pro in their release poster seen above.
Redmi 6 Pro Specifications
First of all, you get the 19:9 Score which translates to a 19:9 Aspect Ratio Display with a notch.
It’s obvious Xiaomi wanted to take advantage of the World Cup craze, but they don’t have a clue about football as there are only 9 players on the field. The first two don’t even have numbers, but the letters A and I. This is clearly implying the cameras have AI capabilities. Next up are three players with the numbers 6, 2, and 5. More than obviously stating Snapdragon 625 as the chip powering the 6 Pro. Apparently, Xiaomi still think the original Redmi 4 chip is still good enough these days, but most fans will not agree.
And finally, the last four players spell 4000mAh battery size which spells good battery life.
Redmi 6 Pro Price
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro price is starting at $180 which aims to replace Redmi 5 Plus, but just a tad higher than Redmi S2 and a tad lower than the Redmi Note 5. Overall, Redmi 6 Pro looks like another solid cost-effective phone by Xiaomi, but for $20-30 more you can get the much more powerful Redmi Note 5 and I really think you should aim for that. Unless you need the notch that is 🙂
