The ioutdoor X pre-sale starts May 15th, 2018 (IP68)
An IP68 rating and yet only a little over 10 mm thin!
I have written about the upcoming ioutdoor X Rugged smartphone before. We are happy to inform you that this great looking new rugged device is up for grabs soon! The Chinese outdoor and rugged electronics manufacturer has whispered in our ear that the ioutdoor X pre-sale starts May 15th, 2018.
Let’s revisit the device to emphasize as to why I think this is a smartphone to look out for. Like we said before this is a 5.7 inch 18:9 screen, something we don’t see on IP68 rated rugged phones every day. But this very 2018 screen is not the only perk on this beast. I think the Helio P23 octacore processor coupled with 6GB of RAM are very promising too. Even though it’s possible to use a microSD card in the ioutdoor X, I think you won’t need one soon. Considering the phone comes with 128GB internal storage. And will it be another bulky brick of a phone? It doesn’t look like it! The ioutdoor X is only a little over 10 millimeter thin!
That’s making the ioutdoor X the thinnest 5.7 inch rugged phone in the world! And if that’s not unique enough, the makers of this phone have another trick up their sleeve (if the specs on paper correspond with the actual device). The camera on this water- dust- and shockproof smartphone promises to be quite something too.
According to our friends at ioutdoor there’s a dual camera set up on the rear with a 16 and an 8 megapixel sensor. The main sensor should come with a f/1.8 aperture. Needless to say that should produce awesome (underwater) footage, regardless what you should be pointing your camera at. We are looking forward to put this beast to the test for you. But for now it definitely looks as if this will be THE device to get you through any summerday on the beach.
