Four alternatives to the Huawei P10 Lite
Save a lot of money, or get better specs for the same price!
I have reviewed the Huawei P10 Lite earlier and as you could read, I had some doubts. Not about the absolute craftmanship nor about the device itself that is a decent midranger. My point was its price. The Huawei P10 Lite is priced somewhere around the 250 bucks. And since we’re dealing with midrange specifications here, I am rather convinced that it was worth the effort to present you with some other options. So here are four alternatives to the Huawei P10 Lite.
1. The Moneysaver:
Considering you have been thinking about the Huawei P10 Lite probably means: You’re content with midrange specs since that’s all you’re using and need. And that is perfectly fine. But did you realize you could save a substantial amount by considering one of the alternatives? Let’s sum up what we have. 2.1GHz Kirin octa core, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 12MP single camera f/2.2, single flash, 3000mAh battery and Android 7.1 on a 5.2″ HD screen right?
Now, put that against 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 12MP Dual camera f/1.9, quad flash, 4000mAh battery Android 7.1.2 on a 5.5″ FHD. So, one could say basically the same and on some points even better right? Well, we’re talking about the Meizu M6 Note here.
Meizu M6 Note
Not only does it have similar specifications, but the overal performance of the Meizu is significantly better. The screen is brighter, sharper in contrast and richer in colour.
The battery is not only bigger, but obviously better optimalized reaching almost twice the screen-on-time of the Huawei P10 Lite. When it comes to the camera there is just no doubt: The Meizu M6 Note comes with ArcSoft Image optimalization, and a real dual camera set up. It has a fantastic portrait mode and is said to be the best camera on a budgetphone in 2017.
The best part is: It’s about 100 euro(!) cheaper than the P10 Lite. If you are interested in the detailed specifications of the Meizu M6 Note or you want to order it, follow this link.
To make certain you understand me correctly, I am not saying Huawei is a bad brand or they make bad phones, to emphasize this I think another great alternative to the P10 Lite actually comes from the Huawei Stables. Their subbrand Honor has recently released a great looking Honor 7X. This device comes with a compareble Hi-Silicon Kirin 659 Octa-core processor clocked at 2.36GHz.
It has the same 4GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM we also find on the P10 Lite but it also comes with a FHD 5.9″ 18:9 screen and sports an amazing dual camera set up on it’s back, where we find a 16 and a 2 MP sensor and on the front it sports an 8MP selfieshooter. The battery has 3350mAh and supports fast charging. Now looking at the Honor 7X I can’t help thinking that THIS is how I would have imagined a P10 Lite. When you consider the price (eur 195,-!) it most certainly qualifies as an alternative. Check it out right here.
2. The Instant Upgrade
This is the second way to determine a decent alternative for the Huawei P10 Light. This method is based on same price rather than similar specs. Think of it this way: since you were almost about to spend around 250 euro for a midrange device, how about spending the very same amount of money for a high end model?
How about we say Helio X25 Deca Core processor, 10 cores clocked at 2.5GHz , 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM, 21MP back camera, 8MP Front camera, both with Sony Sensors, not to forget the stunning bezelless and curved 6″ Sharp screen with a 2K resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The Elephone S8 is powered by a 4000mAh battery that also comes with fast charging. This is definitely a high end device and beats the Huawei P10 Lite on every level. And guess what? You might save 30 to 40 euro ordering one now! For more details on the Elephone S8 and the actual price check here.
Xiaomi Mi Note 3
This, in my humble opinion, is the absolute winning alternative for anyone ready to actually spend around 260 euro for a midrange Huawei P10 Lite. Remember were at exactly the same price here. Now let’s take a look at what Xiaomi throws in for that money and if we will get more value?
For starters, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is powered by a Snapdragon 660 2.2GHz Octa Core processor and comes with a whopping 6GB of RAM.
There’s a choice between 64GB and 128GB internal storage for a tenner or two more. The REAL dual camera set up brings 2x 12 MP camera’s with a f/1.8 aperture into the game which guarantees fantastic picture. Only the Meizu (with ArcSoft Optimalization) is a match here. On the front we also find a 16MP selfie camera just like we do on the Meizu M6 Note. Ofcourse the 5.5″ screen is FHD 1920 x 1080 and the 3500mAh battery is enough to get you through the day for sure. The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 beats the Huawei P10 on every level and I think it’s a great alternative because of it. Click here for more information on the price and specs of the Xiaomi Mi Note
