Official launch reveals Meizu M6s specs and price
Meizu's first 18:9 ratio smartphone is a real looker!
On January 17th it was finally due: The official launch date of the Meizu M6s. Meizu is one of the most well-known Chinese smartphone brands in the world. Amongst other very interesting specs, the Meizu M6s sports the largest display in the M6 line. This launch revealed interesting Meizu M6s specs and price.
A stunning 18:9 in-cell display
Packing an 18:9 in-cell edge-to-edge, 5.7-inch HD+ display, the M6s features a sleek profile. This large screen allows users s much better experience while playing games, online shopping or reading. Up to 15% more text can be displayed on-screen. Playing games on the increased screen space is a real adventure. The rounded corners of the screen on the M6s perfectly match the curves of the metal body.
More natural gesture to unlock
One of the things I love about Meizu is they think about the end users. They make sense. For example, The M6s is designed with a side fingerprint sensor. This new position allows you to unlock your Meizu M6s while keeping the device in your hand in your natural holding position. Simply touch the sensor, and the M6s will unlock within 0.2 seconds. With the use of the side fingerprint unlocks, the M6s doesn’t compromise the user experience. Meaning you got the only screen on the front.
Almost Flagship like performance?
The Meizy M6s is powered by none less than the Samsung’s Exynos 7872 SoC. The hexa-core CPU should ensure high performance at all times. The M6s marks the first time in M-series history for the Cortex-A73 to be used. The 14nm FinFET process is customized for Meizu’s own and brilliant Flyme 6 OS. This should lead to fast, precise, and overall efficient performance. This new chipset is said to provide extraordinary gaming experiences. The M6s is equipped with 3GB RAM, as well as 32GB or 64GB of storage. In addition to on-device storage, the M6s also features an SD card slot, which supports cards up to 128GB.
Perfect combination of [Navigation bar] and mBack
The M6s combines mBack with a [Halo] button. The M6s features a dedicated pressure sensor, so you can experience a whole new world of interactions without ever lifting your fingers. The re-invented Flyme OS navigation bar supports multiple single-hand gestures and customizable navigation colors. Other than mBack’s interactive features, it also provides a shortcut to your apps running in the background. The traditional Android navigation bar is also available.
The exquisite smoothness that’s typical for the design of Meizu is instantly recognizable in the M6s. The back cover is sandblasted using a type of zircon sand, and the corners on both sides are smooth and rounded. The compact body of the M6s basically coordinates the big 5.7″ touchscreen, which brings a comfortable grip and feels to the user. The M6s comes is available in the colors black, blue, gold, and silver.
Advanced photography experience
Let’s talk camera: The M6s combines a 16-megapixel sensor with the Samsung Exynos 7872 ISP to deliver high-quality pictures. The Samsung CMOS features a ƒ/2.0 aperture and a customized 5P lens for richer detail. This should enable you to capture every moment with ease. The 8-megapixel front camera also adopts Samsung CMOS technology, bringing you finer and more natural-looking selfies. When the beauty mode is enabled, the M6s can automatically identify the complexion and shape of the subject’s face and beautify it in real-time.
Long battery life and quick charging
The Flyme 6 Smart Engine should automatically allocate memory and optimize power consumption to use the 3000 mAh battery efficiently. M6s also supports the 18W mCharge Fast Charge that should charge your phone over half in only 30 minutes. Then there’s the power management chip which also should improve charging efficiency greatly.
Meizu M6s specs and price
All in all, this sounds like a fantastic phone from Meizu, again, may I add since their earlier launched M6 and M6 Note show the same signs of craftsmanship and the ability to understand what makes life easier for the end user! Of course, we will do the best we can to provide you with a hands-on review in the future. For now, you can always visit the official Meizu website if you want to know more about the Meizu M6s.
